Have a chance to move there. Interested because of the cheap rent (compared to LA) and the chance to save money. We would just rent a one bedroom. About how much are utilities (gas, electricity) during the winter for a 1 bedroom?

When i was living in an apartment i was lucky enough to find one that paid the utilities for me. So theres always that. Even right now i live in a 3 bed 2 bath house and keep it at about 65 degrees all the time and my bill is only about $100 or so a month thru the winter. Also theres a lot of apartments that just take the basic rate of the entire building and average it out to every unit so everybody pays the same amount. Which is actually pretty cheap. But to answer your question, I would suppose as long as you don’t keep your heater up to like 80 you should have a bill less than $100 p/mo.

Also in oro valley I’m wondering if it is cheaper or more convenient to get an apartment for 2 with utilities included or not!

Oro Valley cheap? Sorry but it’s some of the most expensive real estate around. Nothing is truly cheap in Tucson but you may find a better deal on the east side. Some of the units near U of A are reasonable and include utilities but it may not be the peaceful area you want. You can always find cheap south of I-10 but it may cost you more in ammunition.

I would check Craigslist.com. You can search for all kinds of vehicles on this site, along with sporting merchandise, clothing, furniture, etc. With tough times in the economy, you can find some great deals! Good luck!

I am just moving into my first apartment and need to buy a mattress, a box spring, and a bed frame. I was wondering where the best place to buy a mattress is as far as price goes? So far, the full size mattresses have been quoted as the equivolent of my rent and utilities combined!
btw i prefer NEW mattresses

You must be a long way off the main road supply, if it is going to cost £.40.000. Do you really want cable electricity? Where I live you never see anyone from the electricity company, because they don`t supply `hermits`, Electricity cables don`t come within miles of us. Get your self a generator and supply your own electricity, its` dead cheap, you can run it on oil,derv or whatever.

I found a subsidized apartment for $468 in the state Prosser, Washington that I’m moving in 2 months which is one of the cheapest ones. The problem is that from social security disability I get $635 every month. But after rent and utilities are paid I’m left with $70 a month + food stamps ($152) to survive. With $70 left I have to pay bus transportation every month and buy hygiene supplies and do laundry. Please give me some suggestions, I don’t know how I can survive like this, I will never be able to buy any clothes or shoes.

You just need to find a town with cheaper rent.

Dang, $468 is just too much for rent.

Try looking at some small towns in Texas or Arkansas or in the mid-west.

It seems that you need a degree to work out which company offers the cheapest gas & electricity prices.Particularly when you look at all their tariffs & various plans.
Is there a simple way of working out which company would provide me with the cheapest prices currently?

I will be moving into a new house in Philadelphia near center city (zip code 19130) and am looking to find the cheapest electricity provider. It would also be great if anyone knew a way to compare rates of different providers as the house uses natural gas, water, and electricity. I am a college student so I want to find the cheapest utilities possible. Any adive and hel would be greatly apreciated.

You will probably be stuck with PECO, one of the least efficiently run utilities in the country. Lots of luck.

Water is provided by the city. It isn’t too bad. At least you will be getting Delaware River Water, rather than Schuylkill (pronounced "Skookill) Punch.

My boiler is 30 years old and has never caused any problems but the offer of free gas for a year and a new boiler sounded good to me. Who sells the cheapest utilities and are they good companies. thank you.

They all have shareholders, that is the reason British gas changed, you and I don’t matter, only money. Try searching for utility warehouse for best deals on urilities.

I doubt there are any available to the public. Those are usually the housing projects, and only those serving the disabled and senior citizens.
