I’m considering buying a 1.5Kw standing oil heater from Argos, to save my gas bills. Are these a more effiencient form of heating? Will one of these heaters alone suffice in a medium/large bedroom?
One wall of my master bathroom is an outside wall and the room was a little cooler in the cold weather because of it. I installed an electric convection heater to counter the additional cold. I felt it was a better choice with a fan unit built in to actually blow the hot air over conventional radiant heaters. I dont know it you want to add something permanent into a wall in your room, but I do think that it is more effective ( and therefor less costly to use) than an oil filled unit. I hope you have found this useful.
Are standing plug-in oil heaters cheaper than running gas heaters?

Electric heaters will efficiently heat a small space, but for whole house heating using gas will be much cheaper.

They use a lot of electricity when they are running. 1500 watts. But I use one to heat a room that off my garage that doesn’t have any other heat source. It isn’t too bad. The oil holds the heat well so you can tun it down after the room heats up so it uses less power.
It will easily heat up a large room. I use it in a 300 sqft room with a concrete floor and it has no problems.
