I’m going to be 18 and I’m moving out of my Mom’s house. What type of bills would I have to pay and what’s the average for one person in Manatee county,FL? Food, electric, water, house insurance, taxes. I won’t be paying car insurance or gas because I’m going to ride a bike everywhere to save money and if it’s too far away, I think a taxi would be cheaper than paying insurance and gas. Anything else I’m forgetting? Sources?
I’m inheriting my grandmothers house and I think the mortgage is already paid off.
Uhhhh… rent?
What bills would I have to pay next year?

Don’t forget about TV and telephone if you want those things. Also, maintenance is a biggie! I’m not sure of the costs, as I don’t live in FL, but I can tell you that utilities and such carry a base price, so one person doesn’t necessarily mean you will pay less than a family of 4.

I can’t give an estimate on the bills as I am not familiar with Cost of Living where you are, but here is generally what you are looking at if you own a house:
Property taxes, Insurance, Homeowners Association fees (if applicable), possible yearly inspections (we have to have an annual termite inspection).
As for services: garbage collection (if it’s not provided by the municipality), electricity and/or natural gas, sewer, water, cable, internet, phone line
On top of that you want to set aside some money each month for maintenance costs as things WILL break down.
