will my gas bill be cheaper if i turn the pilot off during summer months?

It won’t make any significant difference but could be dangerous if your gas gets turned on by accident and your room fills with gas

NO,at least its not noticeable. If its a furnace then turn it completely off because it will build up heat, but for cook stove nothing you can do there.

The only one I have ever found that will make a difference is your fireplace pilot. Turn it off during the summer but make sure you have instructions on how to turn it back on. They are usually posted on the very bottom….behind the vent piece that you have to remove.

if your gas company works like ours does, then you get charged even if you don’t use ANY gas during the summer…. so pilot on or off makes no difference… we are paying $13 a month in summer just for the priviledge of having gas!…and that’ s no use at all.. no pilots…. only a gas furnace that is OFF!.. it’s an electric ignition so we don’t actually turn off the gas to it…. but I agree with the other poster, if there’s a chance of a gas appliance being turned on accidently, then yes, I’d turn off the pilot lights!….
