Daraufhin reißt Andie von zu Hause aus und trifft auf ihren alten Freund Tyler Gage, der ihr einen Ausweg aus der Situation zeigt: Sie soll bei der Maryland School of the Arts vortanzen. Sie ist zuerst nicht begeistert von seiner Idee, lässt sich aber auf ein Tanz-Battle gegen ihn ein. Sie verliert und muss dort vortanzen. Andie wird angenommen.
