I say you use about 50 units a week costing between £15 and £20 and it’s natural gas. I based this answer on what I use. I’m in Wales also.
can anyone tell me how to know the amount of gas i consume, and if it is propane or natural gas(uk wales)?

If your connected to the mains gas then its natural gas.
You should have a meter that reads in metres cubed or therms. Read the meter and read the calculation on your gas bill that will allow you to calculate how much each unit on the meter costs you.
If you’re on bottled gas with no meter. Record how long a bottle lasts for which you’ll know the cost. If the bottle is red then its propane, others are possible eg Butane or natural gas via a storage tank, it will say on the bottle / tank

If you have a gas meter it’s easy!
Record it at the start of one day, then the start of the next.
Your bill should give you more details about how its calculated. (small print on the back), depending on the type of meter you have.
